Home Field Advantage is an event planning company focusing on platforms that celebrate what is good about America. The company’s founders believe our country is losing its “home field advantage” because we are so divided. In order to shrink that division, there must be a rallying point. We believe that is Service — helping others be better.
Home Field Advantage looks for opportunities to add value to worthy nonprofits primarily focused on Youth and Front Line Forces. We should be looking to improve things for the generations that follow us. The need for the protection provided by our military and first responders will always be with us.
Home Field Advantage’s philanthropic interest is to secure funding to improve the quality of life of those impacted by Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), particularly treatment protocols.
Mission Statement
Produce and support events showcasing the role Service – caring for each other – can play in unifying our country and solidifying America’s Home Field Advantage.
History
The first Celebration of Service was held in November 2017 with three objectives, which continue today:
- Reflect on our personal commitment to Service – a display of caring for others.
- Show gratitude to those protecting us.
- Honor those providing support.
The event features the presentation of three awards. Two are named for the College Football Hall of Famer Fisher DeBerry and the real head coach in their household, LuAnn. Why the DeBerrys? They are truly committed to helping others be better.
The DeBerry Award for Support of Youth. The assumption is that no one wants to leave the world worse than they found it for their children and grandchildren.
The other DeBerry Award goes to an organization supporting our Front Line Forces – the military, first responders, and health care professionals.
The Sijan Service Award memorializes the legacy of Sacrifice and Service that defines the life of Lance Peter Sijan, the only Air Force Academy graduate to receive the Medal of Honor.
