Russ Laney, Founder
Russ Laney is President and Founder of Home Field Advantage, an event production and
marketing company focused on highlighting the importance of Service-helping others be
better- in unifying America. He is also the President of Brain Health Team (BHT), a
nonprofit committed to securing the resources necessary to accelerate treatment of
veterans dealing with mild to moderate Traumatic Brain Injury. BHT also seeks
collaborations to expand brain health efforts in education, awareness, and services.
Laney has extensive experience in fundraising, team building, and organizational
development. He sharpened his skills in growing and improving organizations as a
Management Consultant at the Air Force Leadership and Management Development
Center, Maxwell AFB AL. Russ began a lengthy stint in college athletics administration
as an Assistant Director of Athletics at Montana State University-Bozeman. He went on
to become the Associate Director of Athletics for Marketing and Development at the Air
Force Academy, responsible for securing funding through external marketing efforts to
include corporate sponsorships and philanthropic contributions. Russ also played a key
role in launching the Academy’s first comprehensive capital campaign, Building Leaders
of Character for the Nation, as Senior Development Officer at the Association of
Graduates. He is particularly proud of facilitating the production of Boeing’s
documentary on the cadet experience at the Air Force Academy, A Year in the Blue.
Laney is a 1976 graduate of the United States Air Force Academy with a Bachelor of
Science degree in Organizational Behavior. His wife, Mary, is a former Mrs. Montana
and an accomplished interior designer. They have five grown children who have blessed
them with 14 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
